Biometric Consent
Effective date: October 7, 2026
Version 1
OVE, Inc. (“OVE”) asks for your written consent before it collects your fingerprints.
What we collect. When you place a finger on an OVE® Sensor, the sensor turns it into a fingerprint template: an encrypted set of numbers that describes your fingerprint. We never store fingerprint images.
Why. We use your templates only to verify your identity when you pay or confirm who you are with OVE, and to protect your account from fraud.
Who receives them. Your templates are stored encrypted on OVE’s servers. They are processed only by OVE and by the service providers that run
OVE’s matching and hosting for us, under contracts that forbid any other use. We never sell, lease, trade or otherwise profit from your fingerprints, and we never share them with merchants.
How long we keep them. We delete your templates when the first of these happens:
-
your account is permanently deactivated (six months after you deactivate it without reactivating, or right away if you delete your account);
-
you ask OVE Support to delete them;
-
24 months pass since you last used OVE.
Failed or incomplete scans are discarded right away. When your templates are deleted, we keep only a record of which fingers you enrolled, when, and which finger confirmed each payment. That record contains no fingerprint data. Full details are in our Biometric Policy.
Your choice. Giving your fingerprints is voluntary. Without them you can keep your OVE account, but you can’t pay or verify your identity with an OVE Sensor.
You give this consent in the OVE App: after you enter your password on the Upload Fingerprints page, the “Your fingerprint data” pop-up asks for it.
By tapping “I agree,” you confirm that you have read this Biometric Consent and the Biometric Policy, and you agree that OVE may collect, store and use your fingerprint templates as described above.
